Brian Lusby’s passion for photography was not apparent when he was growing up, not even to himself. His first love was sports. He divided his time between basketball, swimming, track, even snowboarding, but football ultimately became his favorite. He played football competitively in high school and thoroughly enjoyed every minute he spent on the field. He even had plans to play in college until an incident happened that would change the whole direction of his life. On the very last game of his high school career, he sustained a devastating knee injury that prevented him from returning to the field. He hasn’t been back since.

Fast-forward a few years…

Brian met Elizabeth (who likes to think her creativity rubbed off on Brian). By chance, he took a job at a camera shop, which marked the beginning of his love for photography. With encouragement from Elizabeth, he took classes at a local college to further cultivate his new passion. Brian and his camera were inseparable; where he went, it went too – capturing beautiful moments along the way (some with the help of a tripod)!

To gain further “real life” experience, Brian studied under two successful photographers in the Washington D.C. area who were instrumental in providing insight and encouragement to move forward with his own business ventures – and that’s exactly what he did!

Brian Lusby’s style of photography draws a fine line between fine art and photojournalism. Brian incorporates all details of your special day no matter how small, from the beading of a bride’s wedding gown to secret glances between the bride and groom, resulting in a beautiful “story” that captures the essence of who you are. Brian and Elizabeth share the same artistic vision. Despite having their own unique perspectives, their styles blend seamlessly together – much like their own relationship. Together, they are carving a new brand of photography with energy, passion, and style.
